October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)
Launched nationwide in October 1987, this campaign connects and unites individuals and organizations across the country to raise awareness of domestic violence as well as the services that are available to help survivors of abuse.
Domestic violence affects all people, regardless of age, financial status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. This year’s campaign theme, #Every1KnowsSome1, highlights how common domestic violence is and that abuse is more than just physical violence.
You can make a difference during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
