Volunteer With Us!

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Since 1988, Quigley House volunteers have been vital to our continuous growth and outreach. It is essential to us that we work with people in our community to further our mission. Since we are a comprehensive shelter, we require services that any business and/or home requires and your individual skills and talents are just what we need!

Want to get started right away?

  • You can assist our team by sorting and organizing donations at any of our locations.

  • Assist our Community Education team or Special Event team by assisting with awareness campaigns and planning events.

There are many other opportunities that require a little more preparation:

  • Answer crisis calls on our 24-hour crisis helpline

  • Advocacy work with survivors in shelter and through our outreach programs

  • Respond 24/7 to sexual assault calls and connect survivors to services

  • Raise awareness of Quigley House’s life-saving services at community events and free community classes.

Each volunteer role requires different levels of training and screening, which may include a Level II background screening and extensive Advocacy Training.

If you are interested in volunteering, complete the above volunteer application. Please email our Volunteer Team at volunteer@quigleyhouse.org or call our volunteer coordinator at 904-284-0340 ext. 319 if you have any questions.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

We always love hosting volunteer days for groups to give back and assisting survivors in Clay County.

Some current group projects include:

  • Clean and redesign the outdoor tranquility garden at our Sexual Assault Center

  • General landscaping at our Administrative Office

Internships

Quigley House offers unpaid internships to undergraduate students. Interns can work directly with survivors and children in most of our programs, or in the Development Department assisting with events, marketing, and communication efforts.

If you are interested in interning, please email volunteer@quigleyhouse.org to confirm placements are still available for the semester you’re interested in. Interviews are required for all internships.

Interns are required to attend a volunteer orientation, Level II background screening, and extensive competency training (for direct-service) in order to be placed at Quigley House.

Because of these onboarding requirements, please start the process early. We recommend at least a month ahead of your semester, to make sure you can complete everything in time for your internship to begin.

We appreciate our interns and are always looking to add more to our team!
